At Glen Abbey Smiles Dental Hygiene (formerly JW Dental Hygiene) we enjoy taking care of people and providing the best dental hygiene care in a relaxed and caring environment. Our goal is to educate and provide information so that our clients can improve their oral health and contribute to the well-being of their general health.
My name is Joanna Wisniewska, I was born in Poland and came to Canada in 1992. As a child, I was very fearful of the dentist. My personal experience of going through dental treatment in Canada was what initially led me to consider a career as a dental hygienist. As I underwent dental treatment, I quickly developed a strong bond with the staff that was overseeing my treatment. It was this positive experience that motivated me to work in a central Mississauga dental office and help those who experience dental anxiety, the same way I did as a child.
In 1995 I became a Certified Dental Assistant and worked for four years as a dental assistant. I further continued my studies to become a Registered Dental Hygienist at Niagara College in Welland, Ontario and graduated in 2001. I have had many amazing employment opportunities as a dental hygienist over the years.
I enjoy taking care of people, and providing the best dental hygiene services in my office in Oakville. My goal is to educate and provide information so that my clients can improve their oral health and contribute to the well-being of their general health.
I keep current by attending continuing education courses to enhance my skills and increase my overall dental knowledge. I am a member in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO), Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) and the Halton Peel Dental Hygienists Society (HPDHS).
I am very excited to be able to provide dental hygiene care for Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington and Etobicoke residents at Glen Abbey Smiles Dental Hygiene (formerly JW Dental Hygiene).
I look forward to meeting you.
After graduating from the Dental Hygiene program at George Brown Collage over 20 years ago I continued to expand my clinical experience by working at periodontal and general dental practices in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. I was also a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto teaching and working with dental students.
My experience includes periodontal and implant maintenance as well as general cleaning/scaling, stain removal, placing sealants and teeth whitening.
I enjoy helping patients achieve optimal oral health and educating them about the continuously evolving dental treatments available.
I provide excellent care to all my patients of various ages, from kids to adults, and greatly enjoy sharing with them my knowledge, dedication and enthusiasm of my profession.
You can expect a gentle touch, a gleaming and caring environment but most importantly the upmost professionalism during all your visits with me.
Being a tennis mom to my teenage daughter, I spend my free time with my family promoting an active and healthy lifestyle filled with sports, well balanced nutrition and outdoor activities which living in Oakville provides us.
